Frequently Asked Questions

When I give to Gift of Hope, where does my money go?

Your gifts go to the communities that need them the most. RCA missionaries and partners help identify each need in the Gift of Hope catalog and RCA Global Mission works with them to directly deliver the gifts you have designated to these communities.

How do I honor someone with a gift?

Gift your gift in honor of a friend, a grandparent, or a client. When you place your order, select the “I would like an ornament or card” box and we will send you your choice of an ornament, card, or e-card you can present to that person.

Will I receive a receipt for my gift and is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes to both! You will receive a receipt via email if you order online. If you send in your gift via check, you will receive a receipt in the mail shortly after giving. If you live in Canada and would like a Canadian gifts receipt for tax-deduction purposes, please give online through the Regional Synod of Canada’s website. Select “RCA Ministry – Gift of Hope” in the drop down menu and write in the specific fund in the message box.

Gift of Hope is a project of RCA Global Mission which falls under the Reformed Church in America. All gifts to the Reformed Church in America are considered to be charitable deductions to the fullest extent of the IRS law.

Can my church get involved?

Of course! We have special resources available to churches. Download gift icons to show a growing representation of the gifts your congregation has given or find a PowerPoint slide to put on screen during a special offering for a specific Gift of Hope gift.
